RMMC is formed mainly to improving the maternal and Child health in Uganda within a period five years this has been implemented by the Community of Banya Parish in collaboration with Apac District Local Government.

 

The centre of Banya Community health initiative is based in Akoremor Village, Banya Parish, and Inomo Sub-county.

 

Poverty;

 

Poverty still continues to be the main underlying cause of poor health in Uganda. Associated factors are low literacy especially among women at 51% high prevalence of preventable diseases, emergence of disease of lifestyles, inequitable distribution of health services and other social e.g. Vocational Institutions, safe water supply and markets.

 

The project is designed to last for a period of five years with a total cost estimate of $547,200 USD or one billion three hundred and sixty eight million Uganda shillings only (USHS 1,368,000,000) and it has been funded by Banya Community well wishers, NGOs and Apac District Local Government.

 

These funding was meant to benefit pregnant mothers, neonates, and children less than five years of age.

 

RMMC works with the communities to address challenges faced by the urban and the pregnant mothers and their children in the field of medical health provisions.

 

It goes directly and benefits health workers in terms of job creation and offer services like OPD, delivery, antenatal, Laboratory, immunization to the community and supporting community structures like TBAs, VHT, through training and other support.
